Commonly known as killer Whales these are actually not whales at all but rather the largest member of the dolphin family. Killers they are. This is a member of K pod, one of three resident pods in the San Juan Island area which eat only salmon. Transient pods also prowl these waters this time of year and feed on mammals, especially seals but not salmon.
