I try to do a critique or two a week as it both helps to improve my eye and pays back the help others have given me (sometimes I've been willing to receive it, sometimes not).
I scan through the images at thumbnail size looking for anything that catches my eye. It took several hundred this morning to find this. If I don't have anything good to say or I see for instance a real compositional problem at thumbnail view I move on.
I was rewarded to view this is full mode. You stated your goal of the image and to me clearly achieved that goal. It's kind of like calling the pocket in pool. Sometimes you can slop it in the pocket but it's much more impressive to state your intentions and then carry them out.
This is a very impressive image and it makes me uncomfortable (in a good way) to look at. Vertigo for me was achieve by not only the fish eye perspective but also in your well thought out coloring choices. Well done!
I never give 5 stars for anything (at least so far) and I can't say exactly why...I guess I feel I always have room to improve and therefore so does everyone else. My 4 star rating across the board shows my admiration for the image. Thanks for sharing it.
